Novartis AwardIn the Novartis mHealth Challenge, we walked away with 2nd place. Not bad considering we were up against some competitors who had been working months and years on their products. Our idea was conceived, designed and built in roughly 48 hours…and still took 2nd!

We were very proud of our Twogether app concept that our designer, Anthony Tanaka, championed. The premise is a way for caregivers and family members to communicate about a loved one suffering from heart failure.

Right from the get go, we realized that we wanted to tackle the human side of the story. We wanted an app that would help caregivers stay in constant contact with each other. They would know who was helping, who was available as back up and how things were going. Anthony took on a very soft design, putting the human elements front and center. We wanted to present data, but we didn’t want a graph and grid heavy app. We wanted data presented in a way that represented the human aspects that data covered.

Riding high on our first place win at the Sears Hackathon, we weren’t sure what to expect. The first place winner was this great app that had clearly been worked on prior to the event, which is within the rules. We were impressed by the technology it represented and would’ve chosen it for first place as well. We were thrilled though when our name was called for 2nd place, again considering we had only spent 48 hours from idea to implementation.

We at Omega Ortega take pride in our speed of delivery and quality of work. Winning awards like this at events for huge companies proves to us that we’re on the right track. We may be small in number, but our team has a long history with each other and that shows through in the quality of our work. If you’re in the health care space and are looking for a team to help you bring an idea to life, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
